Full description

The aroma barrier paper pillow pouch combines a paper exterior with a material structure designed to preserve the aroma of the product. This solution is worth choosing if the brown paper look suits the brand and protecting the contents calls for an aroma barrier design. We can produce the pouch in custom sizes and with the desired artwork. When choosing the right structure, in addition to appearance, we also review the product's composition, its condition when packed and how it is used.

Paper exterior, defined protective task

The paper surface is part of the branding, while the aroma barrier is the technical task of the packaging. The two must be designed together, because the retention of aromas is affected by the entire structure and the sealing of the finished pack. With aromatic contents, the key questions are which ingredients are present, in what condition they go into the pouch and in what environment the sealed product is stored. If the contents are also sensitive to other influences, such as moisture or light, we discuss these requirements separately. The term aroma barrier alone does not define every protective property of the pack.

Custom size for the planned portion

The pillow format means a pouch without a gusset, sealed on two or three sides, which is usually displayed lying flat. Sizing is based on the volume of the desired portion and the position of the contents. The paper surface looks its best when the proportions of the pack follow the product and enough room remains for filling and sealing. This version has no press-to-close closure, so it is advisable to choose a pack size that matches the quantity used after opening. With a custom size, the packaging can also be adapted to counter display and the outer carton.

Aroma protection in the finished pack

A good choice of material must be complemented by proper filling and sealing. For aroma, the continuity of the seal is also essential, so dust, small pieces or other contamination on the sealing surface must be avoided. The packaging machine must be used with settings suited to the chosen structure. The finished pouch should be assessed with the real contents and under the planned storage conditions. In this way, the interaction between the material, the seal and the product can be examined together, and the decision about the packaging is based on the actual application.

Artwork adapted to the character of paper

The pouch can also be made with a logo and custom print. The tone of the brown base affects the appearance, so this must also be taken into account when choosing artwork colours and lettering. For an aromatic product, the name, the variant and information about its use together help the buyer understand the range. We design the layout of the surface for the shape of the filled pouch: the brand mark should have a clearly visible place, and the text should not be broken up at the seal edges or folds of the pack.

The characteristics of the contents and the desired paper look are the starting point for designing the aroma barrier paper pillow pouch. On this basis, we agree the size, the packaging process and the print. The aim is a coherent pack whose external appearance and aroma protection task are both matched to the same product.
