Transparent back-seal pouch

The transparent back-seal pouch offers a solution for products whose presentation would be aesthetically compromised by the position of side seals. The seal is placed on the back of the pouch, so the pack can be designed with different surface proportions. The transparent version also makes the contents visible, so the shape and colour of the product and the design of the packaging material together create the finished appearance.

When choosing a back-seal pouch, the main question is where the seal line should be located on the filled pack. The rear arrangement divides the front and the two edges of the pack differently from a side-sealed version. It is therefore worth designing the proportions of the pouch together with the product. A flat item and an item that fills more space can look different in the same outer size. A trial fill helps decide which width and length give the right overall impression.

A presentation built on product visibility

The transparent surface is useful when it is important for the buyer to see the packed product directly. When designing the artwork, it is worth defining which areas should remain clear and where the product details should go. The position of the back seal must also be taken into account when planning printing and labelling. Important information should be placed in an area where the shape of the finished pack does not break up legibility and where the marking remains easy to follow during handling. For markings placed on the back, we also pay attention to where the pack is opened. The product name and the data needed for identification work well if they do not end up in a fold or on the edge of the seal.

Material and accessories for the task

The back-seal design can be produced with various materials and colours, as well as with custom printing. The choice is determined by the protection requirements of the contents: different criteria come to the fore for an aromatic product than for goods that primarily require mechanical protection. On request, we can also discuss a version with a valve. The function of the valve and the structure of the pouch must be designed for the specific product, so that the accessory serves the planned packaging task.

Use to suit the version

We manufacture this pouch format without a gusset and without a press-to-close closure. The presentation and the unit of use should therefore be adapted to this at the design stage. Space must be left at the top of the pouch for sealing after filling, while the product needs sufficient internal space. We check the final size together with the filled pack, the seal positions and the transit packaging. This helps ensure that the aesthetic advantage also holds true in everyday packing.
