DT100 shrink tank

DT100 hot-water dip shrink tank for shrink vacuum packaging.

dt100shrink tank
Full description

The DT100 shrink tank is used to heat-shrink the pouch of a product that has already been vacuum packed. The sealed pack is immersed briefly in hot water, where a suitable shrink vacuum pouch conforms to the shape of the product. The process can give the pack a tighter, neater appearance. This requires a specifically heat-shrinkable pouch, which we select together with the product and the vacuum packing process. The shrink tank performs the operation that follows vacuum packing.

Hydraulic immersion in the water bath

A hydraulic lift lowers the packs into the hot water in the tank and lifts them out after shrinking. The immersion process must be matched to the application conditions of the pouch. The right temperature and treatment time are technological data belonging to the packaging material, so we determine the production setting in line with them. The arrangement of the packs affects how the water reaches their surface. A trial with filled pouches helps achieve an even result.

Spacious working area for the packs

The DT100 tank measures 800 × 600 × 220 mm, and the specified immersion depth is 220 mm. The maximum load is 60 kg, but the usable batch also depends on the size and arrangement of the packs. The products must be placed so that handling and contact with the water are appropriate. The machine's external dimensions of 880 × 1000 × 1320 mm must be taken into account when designing the installation site. Additional access space is also needed for loading and unloading and for cleaning.

Preparing the vacuum pouch and the seal

Before shrinking, the pouch must be sealed with a suitable vacuum packaging machine. The pouch size should leave enough room for the product and the seal, and the seal should be continuous and clean. The behaviour of the heat-shrinkable film must be checked together with the shape of the product, especially near protruding or sharper parts. Shrinking is a packaging operation; the preservation or heat treatment process of the food must be planned separately. A proper pack results from the pouch, vacuum packing and immersion working together.

Integration into the work of the packing station

The machine has a power of 15 kW and requires a 400 V three-phase electrical supply. When planning the installation, besides the electrical requirements, water handling, cleanability and the onward transport of wet packs are also important. Material handling between the vacuum machine and the shrink tank is best arranged along a short, clear route. Further handling, surface drying and labelling of the finished pack can be part of the complete process. When setting up the working routine, every operation should be given a suitable place.

To select the DT100 shrink tank, please send us the product size, the weight per pack and the planned packaging quantity. Our colleagues will help you coordinate the machine with vacuum packing and the right shrink pouch. The aim of preparation is for the film to conform to the product as desired and for shrinking to fit well into your daily packaging work.
