DT60 shrink tank
DT60 hot-water dip shrink tank for shrink vacuum packaging.
Full description
The DT60 shrink tank is designed for a packaging operation carried out after vacuum packing: by immersion in hot water, it conforms the heat-shrinkable pouch to the surface of the product. During treatment, a suitable film contracts and follows the shape of the packed goods more tightly. Using the machine requires shrink vacuum pouches; choosing a conventional vacuum pouch alone does not provide this behaviour. The DT60 can be selected to suit the pack size and the workflow to be established.
Working area and arrangement of packs
The tank measures 600 × 500 × 220 mm, with an immersion depth of 220 mm. The specified maximum load is 60 kg. The number of packs that can actually be handled is determined by the shape of the products and the required arrangement, so the space requirement must be checked as well as the weight limit. The packs should not prevent each other from being immersed properly. A trial with a product sample also shows how loading and further handling of the lifted packs can be organised.
Shrinking with a hydraulic lift
The hydraulic lift lowers the packed product into the hot water and lifts it out after treatment. The water temperature and immersion time must be matched to the specifications of the shrink pouch used. An even appearance is influenced by the pouch size, the shape of the product and the position of the pack together. It is advisable to check the condition of the seal before shrinking and on the finished pack. In this way, the setting can be recorded on the basis of experience with the complete pack.
The operation that follows vacuum packing
A suitable vacuum packaging step is required before the DT60. The pouch must be sized so that the product fits and the mouth can be sealed cleanly and without creases. Excessive or insufficient material allowance can affect the appearance of the shrunk pack. We also take sensitive and protruding parts of the product into account when selecting the pouch. The purpose of hot-water shrinking is to shape the film; the conditions for the food technology treatment of the product must be established independently of this.
Space requirements and utility connections
The machine's external dimensions are 770 × 790 × 1320 mm, and it weighs 120 kg. The 9 kW machine requires a 400 V three-phase supply. During installation, the working area around the tank, water handling and the access needed for cleaning must also be planned. Placing it close to the vacuum machine can simplify the product route, provided enough room remains for loading and unloading. It is also advisable to fit further handling of the lifted, wet packs and preparation for labelling into the routine of the packing station.
If you would like to complement your vacuum packing with shrinking, please send us the product size, the pouch used and the quantity to be handled per cycle. At Kollár Pakk, we will help you examine how the DT60 shrink tank fits into your existing process. With the right pouch and coordinated settings, both the appearance and handling of the finished pack can be planned consistently.
