The transparent front / paper back stand-up pouch complements the visible product with a paper background and an upright appearance. The material effect of the brown back can be linked to understated branding, while the front shows the contents. The stand-up format can be designed for counter and shelf display. To create the right pack, we review the characteristics of the product, the necessary protection and the desired appearance together, and then choose the structure of the front to match.

Paper background, direct product presentation

The transparent side lets the buyer see the colour, shape and composition of the contents. The paper back can provide a uniform background for this. The relationship between the two parts takes shape on the filled pouch: the paper surface comes through in the areas visible behind the contents, while the front shows the contents. The proportions of the pouch should therefore be determined with the specific goods. In an internal space that is too large, the contents can shift, while a tight pack can be under tension and harder to seal. A good fit can make filling and handling easier as well as improving appearance.

The task of the complete structure

The paper exterior and the transparent front play different roles in the pack. The protective properties must be chosen based on the entire material structure and the seal. The front can be made in a version that primarily provides mechanical protection or with a suitable aroma barrier design. With an aroma barrier structure and a complete pouch matched to the requirements of the application, vacuum packaging and modified atmosphere processes can also be planned. For this, we also discuss the composition of the product, its packing condition and the equipment used. In this way, we combine the paper look with the technical requirements of the contents.

Stand-up design for the desired portion

The gusset allows the pouch to stand upright, while the shape of the finished pack is formed by the volume and distribution of the contents. With the planned quantity, we check whether the gusset opens properly and whether enough room remains for the top seal. We also examine the size based on the seals and the shape of the product. If the pouch is pulled more tightly against the contents during the chosen process, the upright appearance must be assessed in that state. Placing the pack in the outer carton and the side visible on the shelf can likewise be planned based on the filled, sealed shape.

Artwork for the visible side and the paper side

A company logo and custom artwork can also be requested for the pouch. We design the print so that the transparent area keeps its role of presenting the product, while the paper background fits the branding. On the brown base, colours and lettering can give a different contrast from the transparent side, where the colour of the contents also shows. On the upright pack, the product name and essential information must remain easy to read. In the artwork layout, we also take into account the folds of the gusset, the seal edges and the top section intended for opening.
