Used double-chamber skin packaging machine INTACT RM 572
The RM572 is a versatile double-chamber skin vacuum packaging machine. A true vacuum is created in the special Intact pack and the film fully takes on the shape of the product: like any other vacuum packaging machine, it creates a vacuum in its chamber, then lets the air back in in a specially controlled way.
Full description
The used INTACT RM 572 double-chamber skin packaging machine offers a solution for producing vacuum packs that follow the shape of the product. The special lidding material is heated during the process and then, through controlled air return, conforms to the contours of the product. The desired appearance requires the machine, the packaging material and suitable support to be coordinated.
Skin packaging shaped to the product
The RM 572 creates a vacuum in the chamber and forms the heated, suitable film onto the product in a controlled process. The appearance of the finished pack is also influenced by the height, surface and shape of the goods. For sharp or strongly protruding parts, the stress on the material must be examined separately. The advantage of skin packaging is that it follows the product's contour, but a trial with your own product is necessary for a good result. The film properties must also be checked against the later storage and use conditions.
Using film and film together
In one configuration, the bottom packaging film is placed on a flat plastic plate, the product is placed on it, and packing is then carried out together with the lidding film. The compatibility of the bottom and top materials determines whether the seal can be formed as intended. Sufficient free surface must be provided around the product, and the contact areas must be kept clean. When selecting materials, the rigidity, peelability and further handling of the pack matter as well as sealability. The two films are therefore best selected as elements of a single packaging system.
Tray and film with a suitable holder plate
For tray packaging, the plastic holder plate must be machined to the size of the tray so that its flange rests properly. Precise support is important, as without it the heat and pressure of the process can deform the tray. Besides the external dimensions of the tray, the geometry of the flange and its material must also be known. During the trial, the fit of the lidding film, the retention of the tray shape and the complete sealing surface must be evaluated together. For a different tray shape, the suitability of the existing holder plate must be checked again.
Selecting a used machine with a sample pack
When evaluating the used RM 572, the actual machine configuration, the available holder plates and the planned packaging material together provide the basis for a decision. It is advisable to test the use of the two chambers in a working routine coordinated with product preparation and removal of the finished pack. The check must include evacuation, film heating, air return and the seal result. The condition, cleanability and maintenance tasks of the machine must be reviewed on the specific unit, taking the planned use into account.
To discuss the INTACT RM 572, please send us a sample of the product, the desired form of the skin pack and the details of the planned bottom material. We will help you examine the requirements of the film–film or tray–film configuration. A trial with your own materials provides meaningful feedback on both the appearance of the pack and the machine's suitability for the task.
Technical features
- Film + film: the bottom film is placed on an unmachined plastic plate, the product is placed on it, the top film is drawn over it and packing is carried out as described below.
- Tray + film: the plastic plate must be machined to the size of the tray so that the tray flange rests on the plate. If trays are packed without a suitable plastic holder, they may deform during the cycle due to the heat and pressure.
