Performa 420 automatic thermoforming machine
Automatic thermoform-fill-seal machine with vacuum and modified atmosphere
Full description
The Performa 420 automatic thermoforming machine forms the pack cavity that holds the product from bottom film on a reel and, after filling, seals it with top film. Tray forming and sealing thus become part of a single machine process. The machine is built to order, tailored to the product to be packed and the conditions of the plant. It can be designed for production tasks where the pack shape, material and sequence of operations are to be developed in a unified system.
Forming, filling and sealing
The process starts with forming the bottom film. The product is placed in the formed cavities, followed by the chosen packaging process and sealing of the lidding film. In the machine design, vacuum, gas dosing and related operations can be coordinated as required. The solutions for filling, weighing, labelling and finished pack handling must be planned for the complete production task. We therefore determine the final equipment on the basis of the product and the desired workflow.
Bottom and top film selected together
In thermoform packaging, the formability of the bottom film, the corners that form and the sealing properties of the lidding film all matter. Besides the size of the product, its weight, shape and protection needs also influence material selection. For vacuum or modified atmosphere applications, gas barrier and tightness of the complete pack must be achieved. It is advisable to test the film combination together with the forming and sealing settings. Kollár Pakk also provides assistance in matching the bottom and top films.
Programmable control and machine construction
On the touchscreen PLC control, 99 different processes can be set, which supports managing the parameters of several packaging tasks. The automation monitors operation and signals any detected faults. The frame is made of AISI 304 stainless steel. The tooling comprises anodised aluminium elements and coated sealing surfaces, and the heating unit is insulated. The access needed for cleaning and maintenance must also be considered when planning the machine's position in the plant.
A system tailored to the plant
When planning the Performa 420, the available space, product infeed and the outfeed of finished packs are all important. The tool layout, pack size and filling process determine which design serves the desired production. Gas dosing and the vacuum process must be adapted to the specific food. During trial production, forming, sealing and the handling of the finished pack can be evaluated together. This provides the basis for recording the right production settings.
To prepare a thermoforming packaging line, please send us the product details, pack formats, planned quantity and the available area in your plant. On this basis, our colleagues will help prepare the design of the Performa 420 and the selection of the films. The aim of joint planning is for the machine, the packaging material and the production process to work in harmony.
