Aroma and moisture barrier press-to-close pouch
Transparent pouch that keeps out atmospheric moisture, preserves the product's aroma and can be resealed after opening.
Full description
The aroma and moisture barrier press-to-close pouch complements product protection with the option of repeated opening and resealing. Its transparent design shows the contents, so it is also worth considering as packaging for crisps, dried fruit and biscuits. The flat pouch format can be designed for larger pack sizes used in several portions. For custom designs, we define the task of the packaging based on the texture, aroma and moisture sensitivity of the contents.
Crispy and moist contents
The moisture barrier can serve different purposes for different products. For a crispy biscuit or crisps, limiting moisture absorbed from the surrounding humidity comes to the fore, while for dried fruit a change in its own moisture content can also be important. The aroma barrier property helps retain aromas. Before choosing the right structure, we clarify to what extent each property matters for the specific contents. The recipe, the texture and the packaging environment together provide the starting point, so we base the material selection on the actual product.
A larger portion with more convenient use
The press-to-close closure allows the buyer to take out the quantity needed and then close the opening of the pouch again. This requires suitable free space to be left around the closure. With crumbly or small-piece contents, it is particularly useful if the pack can be dispensed from in such a way that the closure profile stays clean. It is not advisable to fill the pouch up to the closure line, as this can make convenient use and resealing more difficult. We therefore design the pack size together with the buyer's expected consumption habits and the handling of the remaining product.
Initial seal and condition after opening
The protective properties of the packaging material are completed by a proper initial seal. During filling and sealing, the condition of the pouch surface, dust from the contents and the cleanliness of the seal area also require attention. Using the press-to-close closure does not automatically restore the packaging conditions that existed before opening. The storage and consumption instructions for the product must therefore also be defined for the opened pack. When assessing the finished pack, the sealed state and the state already opened by the buyer represent different situations of use.
Transparent surface for flat display
The press-to-close pillow pouch is a format without a gusset, suited to placement lying flat. The direct view of the contents can help present the product, and a custom logo and artwork help with brand recognition. The print should be arranged so that, alongside the important markings, a visible area remains for the product. With larger pack sizes, the bulge of the pack and the movement of the contents can also change the overall look, so we check the artwork layout on the filled pouch. We also adapt the way the packs are placed in the outer carton to the resulting shape.
We produce the aroma and moisture barrier press-to-close pouch to custom requirements. Based on a sample of the product, the planned portion and the way it is used, protection, size and resealability can be designed together, so that the pack also provides an easy-to-handle pack size for the buyer.
