AutoMAP automatic tray sealer
Automatic tray sealer with vacuum and modified atmosphere
Full description
The AutoMAP automatic tray sealer combines tray conveying, lidding film sealing, trimming and discharge in one system. It can be designed to receive pre-filled trays or for a filling process set up on the conveyor. We recommend considering the machine for production tasks where packaging is an organised work stage between product preparation and finished goods handling.
Sealing and conveying in one process
The trays are indexed into the vacuum chamber and under the sealing tool by a stepper motor. The sealed, trimmed pack is passed to the outfeed conveyor. Depending on the process set up, the machine can be used for sealing only or for tasks with vacuum and modified atmosphere. Handling of compartment trays can be arranged with a suitable tool. The shape, flange and fill level of the tray must be examined together with conveying, so that the position of the product and the cleanliness of the sealing area remain correct along the entire route.
Modified atmosphere and vacuum with verified settings
The ZERO2 system uses volume-controlled gas injection. The gas mixture and dosing must be determined for the product, the headspace of the tray and the properties of the packaging material. The stepped vacuum process can also be arranged for moist products or products at different temperatures, subject to verification with your own product. The correct setting is confirmed by examining the seal and, where necessary, the atmosphere inside the pack. No general shelf life can be derived from the use of modified atmosphere alone.
Film handling and machine design
A photocell is provided for handling printed film; correct operation requires a suitable print mark and reel design. A buffer tank is available for the protective gas. The machine frame is made of 304 stainless steel, and the vacuum pump is housed in the machine body. Quick couplings for the electrical and gas connections are part of the system design. At installation, access must also be provided for film changes, the tool and the areas to be cleaned, in accordance with the manufacturer's operating requirements.
Connection to the next work stage
After the outfeed conveyor, labelling, inkjet marking, metal detection or weighing can also be integrated into the line. These are related solutions to be agreed separately, and their selection depends on the requirements for the finished product. The AutoMAP can be configured with additional functions and equipment for custom tasks. When planning the line, the pace of incoming trays, product filling and the reception of finished packs must be considered together. The usability of the complete process is best evaluated in a trial with your own tray and product.
To configure the AutoMAP, please send us the tray and lidding film details, the product characteristics and a description of the connected operations. We will help you coordinate the sealing or modified atmosphere task, the tool and the conveying. In this way, automatic tray sealing can be built around your actual production process, with a verified packaging result.
