The Boxer 42 XL tabletop chamber vacuum machine offers a tabletop working space for arranging pouches with a larger footprint. The 460 × 420 × 180 mm chamber deserves particular attention if the length of the pack or the placement of several smaller portions determines the choice of machine. Making deliberate use of the chamber

The 420 mm seal bar and the pump of 21 m³/h nominal capacity are important sizing data of the unit. The external dimensions of the machine are 490 × 610 × 445 mm. The larger chamber area can be used well if the open part of the pouch reaches the seal without obstruction. With longer products, both ends of the pack and the allowance left for sealing must be taken into account. For loading several pouches together, we recommend a separate positioning trial, as the three-dimensional shape of the packs says more about usability than the nominal dimensions.

Selectable control, easy-to-follow work

Time control or sensor control can be agreed, and the ten programs can help organise recurring packaging tasks. The process in the chamber can be observed through the transparent lid. Filler plates can be used to bring the pack to the right height. When setting up the programs, it is advisable to record the pouch material, the size of the contents and the required seal together. This way, at a product change, it is clear to the operator what preparation and checks belong to the given setting.

Sealing matched to the material

The Boxer 42 XL can be chosen with various sealing configurations, such as double seal, seal/cut-off or wide seal. The right solution is best determined based on the film structure and the requirements for the pack. Soft-air shapes the end of the operation through controlled air return. Modified atmosphere work requires a configuration suitable for gas flushing. Do not treat these options as stand-alone extras: the product, the pouch and the desired end result decide which of them has a role in the task.

A maintainable tabletop unit

The stainless steel housing, the stainless steel chamber and the removable seal bars make the surfaces to be cleaned easier to reach. The pump comes with a maintenance program. An inclined insert can be chosen for packs with liquid, and a connector for suitable external containers. When designing the worktop, space must also be provided for the open lid and for moving packs. With larger pouches, a tidy preparation surface in front of the machine is particularly useful, as the sealing edge can then be laid down without pressing the product or creasing the film.

• Wide seal: 1 x 8 mm flat sealing wire
• Bi-active sealing: 1 x 5 mm flat sealing wire both in the vacuum chamber and in the lid. This makes it possible to seal vacuum pouches thicker than 200 µm as well as aluminium triplex pouches. (BOXER 42 XL Bi-active model only)
