Full description

The Multiform A1 semi-automatic tray sealer offers a compact design for sealing small trays with lidding film. Automatic film feed and sealing work with trays prepared by hand. This model is worth considering if you want programmable machine sealing for smaller pack sizes and the space taken up on the work counter is also an important factor.

Small tray size, precise tool fit

The maximum tray size is 205 × 150 mm, with a maximum depth of 100 mm. The machine takes film up to 150 mm wide on a reel up to 160 mm in diameter. The tray flange must be supported by the right tool, so the shape and flange design matter as well as the size. The sealable layer of the film must be chosen to suit the tray material. It is worth checking the fit, the sealing area and the peelability of the finished pack with a sample tray and the planned lidding film.

Cross-cutting of the lidding film

The Multiform A1 has a cross-cutting knife and does not trim the film around the tray outline. The film overhang on the two sides is therefore determined by the reel width. The appearance of the finished pack can be shaped by selecting the tray and film together. Material that is too narrow may not cover the sealing area, while material that is too wide may cause handling problems through excess overhang. During the trial, it is also worth checking how the film edges behave when packs are placed side by side and passed on.

Five storable settings

Five programme settings can be stored on the digital control panel. The sealing surface temperature is adjustable between 0 and 200 °C; the right value must be determined on the basis of the tray and film specifications and a test seal. The upper end of the range is not a generally recommended working temperature. Alongside automatic film feed and sealing, the operator must also ensure the tray is filled and the flange is clean. It is advisable to assign the specific material combination to each proven programme, so that the right setting can be selected at product changeover.

Compact machine with cleanable surfaces

The machine measures 250 × 385 × 505 mm, weighs 20 kg and runs on a 230 V supply. Its housing is made of stainless steel and anodised aluminium, and the tool is PTFE-coated aluminium. Cleaning must use a method that is gentle on the coating and the material surfaces. When planning the work counter, allow space for handling the film reel and removing the trays. Fill the product into the tray so that the sealing area remains free and clean. Organised preparation helps the machine cycle start under the right conditions.

To select the Multiform A1, please send us the exact tray dimensions, the lidding film details and the nature of the product. We will help you check the tool fit and the pack appearance resulting from cross-cutting. The set-up matched to small trays can be tested with your own material, so sealing and handling can be evaluated together.
