Paper press-to-close pouch
Paper outside, heat-sealable plastic inside; press-to-close pouch for packing dry, non-greasy products that can be resealed after opening.
Full description
The paper press-to-close pouch offers a brown paper look and a resealable design for smaller pack sizes. Its sealable version serves to close the pack after filling, while its press-to-close closure allows it to be closed again while the buyer is using it. It relies primarily on mechanical protection and the appearance of the pack. It does not provide an aroma barrier, and we recommend it for products that contain no fat, because fatty ingredients can cause visible stains on the paper surface.
The contents determine suitability
Brown paper can fit well with branding that aims to show the natural effect of the material. When choosing the right product, however, the composition and protection requirements come first. If the aroma of the contents needs to be protected separately or if it contains fat, a different structure must be found. With this version, the aesthetic concept should be combined with goods whose properties match what the pouch can offer. In addition to the ingredients, the condition at the time of packing and the shape of the product also count, so we base the decision on the actual contents.
Seal and press-to-close closure for two situations of use
Sealability and resealability serve different operations. The seal after filling must be set up for the packaging process, with a clean sealing surface and a properly designed top section. The press-to-close closure is used by the buyer after opening, once part of the contents has been taken out. For this, it is important that the closure profile does not fill up with small pieces of the contents and remains pressable across its full width. When sizing the pouch, we therefore also leave room for dispensing and handling the closure, in line with the planned quantity of the pack.
Smaller packs in a flat arrangement
The pillow format sealed on two or three sides is a design without a gusset. We recommend it for flat display, in smaller packs where repeated opening can be useful. It is worth checking the size based on the volume of the contents: the seals and the position of the closure also take up space within the outer size. The load on the finished pack is affected by the shape of the product and the method of transport together. In the outer carton, the arrangement of the pouches, protruding parts and the effect of stacked packs also deserve attention, so that the appearance remains orderly during handling.
Print to suit the paper surface
By printing a custom company logo and artwork, the paper press-to-close pouch can be adapted to the brand's appearance. The brown base colour determines the contrast, so we design the lettering and images for this background. On the small surface of the pack, it is worth giving the information a clear order: after identifying the product, the information needed for use should follow. The area around the top closure and the seal edges can bend differently on the filled pouch, so we define the position of important text with the finished shape in mind.
This pouch is worth considering when you need both a brown paper look and resealability. Once the composition of the contents has been clarified, we size the pack for the desired portion and develop the print together with the way it is used. The paper exterior can thus be part of an easy-to-handle pack that goes with the right product.
