Full description

With its 840 × 830 × 255 mm chambers, the Polar 2-85 floor-standing double-chamber vacuum machine offers a stainless steel workspace for arranging larger loads. Alongside the pump of 300 m³/h nominal capacity, the operation of the two chambers determines how the machine can be used in production. We therefore recommend making the machine selection together with the pack sizes and the material handling routine.

Large chamber area, organised packs

The seal arrangement consists of two seal bars, each 840 mm long, at the front and back. In the wide chamber, placing one larger pack or several smaller pouches can be considered, but the usable number of packs must be determined with the actual load. Every pouch mouth must lie flat, clean and free of creases. Filler plates help position the product at the right height. In the approved layout, the location of the goods and of the free film section should be clear, so that the same working method can be followed when switching chambers.

Material handling around the two chambers

The machine's external dimensions are 1980 × 1230 × 1180 mm, and a 400 V connection must be provided for operation. When positioning it, the route to the machine and the space needed for the lid movement must also be taken into account. With larger loads, preparing and removing packs can be a significant part of the work, so it is advisable to coordinate the height and size of nearby work tables. In the double-chamber layout, preparation of the next batch can be matched to the machine cycle. The actual daily pace is best assessed on the basis of the entire sequence of tasks.

Settings for the product range

Time-controlled or sensor control and programme management can be agreed. For recurring items, record the exact pouch type and the layout used in the chamber alongside the setting. The sealing system can be selected to suit the packaging material, for example with a double seal, seal/cut-off or, where justified, a bi-active design. Gas flush tasks require a suitable configuration, and soft-air serves controlled air return. On every pouch of a larger load, it must be checked that the seal and the fit of the film are correct.

Stainless steel design with production care

The housing, the flat vacuum surface and the lid are made of stainless steel. The seal bars in the lid come with removable silicone supports. Both chambers must be cleaned according to the same routine, without skipping surfaces that are harder to reach. The pump maintenance programme supports care of the machine. Also ensure the access needed for servicing at installation. The large machine surface stays well organised if pouches, prepared products and cleaning equipment are stored in separately designated places.

For a recommendation on the Polar 2-85, please send us the size of your largest pack, the planned layout per load and the method of material supply. We will help you match the machine to the available production space and the control to the packaging task. A trial with your own product provides feedback on both the seal quality and how easily the two chambers can be operated.

Technical features

General features

  • Floor-standing double-chamber vacuum packaging machine
  • Stainless steel housing
  • Flat stainless steel vacuum chamber
  • Stainless steel lid
  • Easily removable silicone supports
  • Seal bars mounted in the lid
  • Chamber depth adjustable with filler plates

Packaging functions

  • Vacuum: optimum final vacuum 99.99% (0.1 mbar)
  • Gas flush: the injected gas protects the product from mechanical damage and significantly extends its shelf life
  • Soft-air: controlled ventilation, i.e. slowed evacuation and air return, which prevents soft products from being crushed

Sealing options

  • Double seal: 2 x 3.5 mm convex sealing wires remove moisture and provide double protection
  • Seal/cut-off: 1 x 3.5 mm convex sealing wire + 1 x 1.1 mm diameter round wire
  • Delayed cut-off: 1 x 3.5 mm convex sealing wire + 1 x 1.1 mm diameter round wire. The outer round wire can be set to stay heated for longer, so shrink vacuum pouches can also be handled
  • Wide seal: 1 x 8 mm flat sealing wire
  • Bi-active seal: 1 x 5 mm flat sealing wire both in the vacuum chamber and in the lid. This makes it possible to seal vacuum pouches thicker than 200 µm as well as aluminium triplex pouches.

Control functions

  • Digital control: time control / automatic programming / 10 programs
  • Sensor control: setting the vacuum and gas flush pressure values ensures accurate, consistent packaging quality / automatic programming / 10 programs / extra vacuum time

Other functions

  • The STOP button interrupts the program partially or completely at any time
  • Dedicated vacuum pump maintenance program in the control / operating hours counter / service indicator / standby mode / etc.

Options

  • Maintenance service kit
  • Special control options for custom configurations
  • Custom machine configurations for special products and/or production environments
