Puncture-resistant vacuum pouch
Transparent puncture-resistant vacuum pouch for bone-in meat, available in the thickness you need.
Full description
The puncture-resistant vacuum pouch offers a reinforced solution for packing products whose surface puts above-average mechanical stress on the packaging. With bone-in meat, seeds or contents with sharper parts, the vacuum presses the pouch against the protruding points as well. In such cases, one of the main criteria when choosing the packaging material is that it withstands the locally occurring load.
Reinforced outer layer
The product is made with a special, reinforced outer layer. Its purpose is to increase the mechanical resistance of the pouch against surfaces liable to cause punctures. The term puncture-resistant means increased resistance, so for every product it is worth checking suitability under the actual packaging conditions. The shape of a bone end, the position of the contents and the handling of the pack can cause different stresses. We make the choice based on an overall assessment of these factors.
The shape of the product determines the requirement
To choose the pouch, in addition to the fill weight, the largest protruding points and the surfaces over which the film may be stretched must also be known. Products of the same weight but different shapes can have very different packaging requirements. With bone-in meat, the way it is cut matters; with seeds, the shape of the grains and the compaction of the pack also count. A size that is too tight can put unnecessary stress on the pouch, so it is advisable to try filling and vacuuming with a real product sample.
Checking the sealed pack
It is worth examining the condition of the vacuum pouch after sealing and again after the planned handling. Softening of the pack, visible damage or a faulty seal may indicate that some element of the process needs to be modified. A trial gives a useful picture if the usual storage compartment, transit packaging and loading method are also included. If necessary, the pouch size, the arrangement of the product or separate mechanical protection can also contribute to creating the right pack. Tracking where damage occurs is valuable feedback. If the problem always appears at the same protruding point, turning the product or changing the packing method can be considered; with random damage, it is worth reviewing the handling route of the goods.
Flat format and custom presentation
The puncture-resistant vacuum pouch is a three-side sealed, pillow-style pack. It is well suited to products stored and displayed lying flat, and the open side must be sealed after filling. Instead of a resealable zip closure, the seal provides the first closure, so portioning should be matched to the unit of use. The pouch can also be printed with your own logo and artwork. We adapt the position of the label or print to the shape of the filled product, so that the information remains legible on the finished pack.
If a conventional vacuum pouch is regularly damaged with your product, show us the item to be packed and where the damage occurs. Knowing the size, the machine and the handling conditions, we can recommend a targeted puncture-resistant solution and then verify the right version with a packaging trial.
