Full description

The aroma and moisture barrier pillow pouch can be chosen for packing products where both retaining aromas and protection against moisture are important. Its transparent version makes the contents visible, and the flat format is suitable for creating smaller sales units. For crisps, dried fruit and biscuits, we match the choice of packaging material to the texture of the product and its storage conditions, so that the protection serves actual use.

Aroma and moisture are separate tasks

In addition to preserving aromatic ingredients, it is also worth clarifying in which direction the contents are sensitive to changes in moisture. For a crispy product, moisture absorbed from the surrounding humidity can be unfavourable; for another product, a loss of its own water content can change its eating quality. The moisture barrier structure limits this transfer; the level of protection required is determined by the contents and the environment together. We therefore examine the packaging of a pack size stored in a dry warehouse and used quickly, and that of goods kept in a place with varying humidity, on the basis of the specific conditions.

Smaller portions in an easy-to-handle format

The pillow pouch is a packaging without a gusset, sealed on two or three sides. When displayed lying flat, the arrangement of the product and the proportions of the pouch together shape the appearance. This version has no press-to-close closure, so it is advisable to choose a quantity that matches consumption. For fragile biscuits, the size and position of the pieces; for light crisps, the larger volume; and for dried fruit, the change in shape of the contents can affect the internal space required. The pouch must always be sized with the actual product, because the same weight can require different packing volumes.

The seal is part of the protection

The properties of the film take effect together with proper sealing of the finished pack. Crumbs, dust or contamination from the contents in the seal area can adversely affect the continuity of the seal. When defining the fill level, a clean, free sealing area must therefore be left, and the seal must be set up in coordination with the packaging equipment. The planned storage period is assessed with the finished, packed product. In doing so, in addition to the material structure, the effect of the fill condition, the seal and the temperature must also be taken into account.

Visible product, legible brand

The transparent pouch can also be produced with your own logo and artwork. When defining the position of the print, we preserve the surface intended to showcase the product and adapt the important information to the shape of the pack. The buyer can thus see, for example, the shape of the biscuit or the colour of the dried fruit without opening the pack. Labelling and printing should be designed together with the orientation of the flat placement.

For custom requirements, we select the design of the aroma and moisture barrier pillow pouch after reviewing the pack size, the moisture sensitivity of the contents and the packaging process. This allows a pack to be created in which a clear appearance and protection matched to the product fulfil a common purpose.
