A tool that fits the tray

The sealing area is 210 × 160 mm, and the maximum tray depth is 100 mm. The tool must be chosen to suit the exact shape and flange of the tray; the external size alone does not confirm the fit. On this rental BP 30, the tool is changed by unscrewing it. When using several tray types, the changeover must therefore be planned as part of the working routine. It is advisable to provide the details of all planned trays in advance, so that the required tool and the method of changeover are clear.

Lidding film for the required seal

The sealable surface of the film must suit the tray material. The peelability of the finished pack, the seal strength and further use must be determined when selecting the material combination. Because the machine does not trim around the tray, it is also worth testing the appearance and handling of the film edges. A proper seal requires a clean tray flange and lidding film lying evenly. When filling the tray, moisture, grease or pieces of product reaching the sealing area must be prevented, as these can affect the sealing result.

Compact machine at a temporary workstation

The BP 30 measures 540 × 225 × 280 mm and weighs 8 kg. It requires a stable work surface and an electrical connection suitable for the machine. Despite its small size, space must also be left for filled trays, lidding material and finished packs. Even at a temporary packing station, it is worth establishing the cleaning and checking routine in advance. The usability of the workflow is shown by filling, tidying the flange, sealing and removal together, so the trial is best carried out with these operations.
