Polar 110 floor-standing chamber vacuum machine

With its 620 × 1050 × 280 mm chamber, the Polar 110 floor-standing chamber vacuum machine offers a workspace for packaging products with large overall dimensions. The large chamber can be used well when pouch placement, sealing direction and product handling fit together. We therefore recommend configuring the machine on the basis of your actual pack sizes and the planned production task.

Arranging larger packs

The seal bar arrangement can be chosen in several ways: two 620 mm sealing positions at the sides or two 1050 mm sealing positions at the front and back. The longer sealing length offers possibilities for the right pouch, but the spatial requirement of the product must still be checked separately. The highest point of the filled pouch must also fit within the 280 mm chamber height. Before loading, the product should be supported so that neither the film nor the pouch mouth bears unnecessary load during handling.

Pump version for the production task

The Polar 110 can be specified with a pump of 100 or 160 m³/h nominal capacity. The two values represent different machine versions, so the configuration must be chosen together with the real load and the working sequence. The machine's external dimensions are 947 × 1200 × 1150 mm, and a 400 V connection is required for operation. Handling larger products requires suitable access and a set-down surface. When assessing the installation, it is also worth including the doors, the access route and the space needed for the preparation station connected to the machine.

Stainless steel surfaces and programmability

The stainless steel housing, the flat stainless steel workspace and the stainless steel lid are defining elements of the machine's design. The seal bars located in the lid come with removable silicone supports. A time-controlled or sensor-controlled solution with programme management can be selected. It is advisable to assign the settings to the product and the pouch together. For large packs, check separately for film creasing, tension forming at the corners of the product and the full sealing area, as these details also affect the quality of the finished pack.

Sealing method and care routine

Double seal, seal/cut-off, wide seal or, for suitable material, a bi-active system can be agreed. Gas flush operation requires a suitable configuration; soft-air serves controlled air return. In addition to the pump maintenance programme, regular cleaning of the work surface and the sealing area is also important. With a larger machine, access to the parts to be cleaned must be ensured at the time of placement. We select the required functions according to the characteristics of the product and verify them on a sample pack.

• Bi-active seal: 1 x 5 mm flat sealing wire both in the vacuum chamber and in the lid. This makes it possible to seal vacuum pouches thicker than 200 µm as well as aluminium triplex pouches.
