Polar 2-75 floor-standing double-chamber vacuum machine

With 620 × 750 × 250 mm chambers, the Polar 2-75 floor-standing double-chamber vacuum machine offers room for packs requiring a larger surface. Because of the selectable sealing direction and the alternate use of the two chambers, pouch layout is a central question in configuring the machine. We recommend evaluating this model together with the pack size and the method of operation.

620 or 840 mm seal arrangement

The machine can be specified with two 620 mm seal bars at the front and back or two 840 mm seal bars at the sides. The two options orient the open ends of the pouches in different directions, so the choice must be based on the product shape and the filling method. Once the dimensions are known, first the complete pack and then the free sealing area must be fitted into the chamber. Filler plates can raise lower goods to a suitable working height. It is worth checking with samples whether the selected layout works well for both the most frequent and the extreme product sizes.

Operation suited to a larger workspace

The pump of 160 m³/h nominal capacity requires a working routine that also takes manual operations into account. The machine's external dimensions are 1545 × 1150 × 1180 mm, and a 400 V connection must be provided for operation. When switching chambers, removing finished packs and inserting the next batch require joint preparation. For larger products, support and gripping points are particularly important. It is therefore advisable to provide surfaces next to the machine on which goods can be arranged without stretching the film or contaminating the pouch mouth.

Stainless steel work surface for two chambers

The Polar 2-75 has a stainless steel housing, a flat stainless steel vacuum surface and a stainless steel lid. The seal bars are located in the lid, and the silicone supports can be removed for cleaning. The care routine must cover both chambers, including the sealing point and the area around the gaskets. The pump maintenance programme supports operation. It is worth checking cleaning access at installation, as storage surfaces around the machine can easily take up the working area needed later.

Functions according to material and product

Time-controlled or sensor control and programme management can be selected. For sealing, a double seal, seal/cut-off, wide seal or, for a suitable pouch, a bi-active design can be agreed. Gas flush is performed by a suitable configuration, and soft-air ensures controlled air return. Also record the pouch layout used in the chamber with the programmes. Correct placement is important even with identical parameters, so both the finished seal and the film folds forming around the product must be checked.

• Bi-active seal: 1 x 5 mm flat sealing wire both in the vacuum chamber and in the lid. This makes it possible to seal vacuum pouches thicker than 200 µm as well as aluminium triplex pouches.
