Embossed vacuum pouch for freezing and storage

The embossed vacuum pouch is a ribbed packaging material designed for external (suction) vacuum sealers. The channels on its surface help draw out the air when the open end of the pouch is placed in the device. Whether for household use, smaller processing sites or occasional packing, it can be a solution for arranging suitable portions into sealed, easily identifiable packs.

Why the ribbed surface is needed

For an external vacuum sealer to work, the air must be able to travel from inside the pouch to the point of extraction. The embossed channel design provides this path, so the pouch must be inserted in accordance with the machine manufacturer's instructions. The pouch is made from a seven-layer co-extruded material with a nominal thickness of 90 microns, and it is transparent. The ribbing and the film together form the packaging material we select for this type of machine.

Clear packaging for smaller batches

Ready-made pouches allow recurring portions to be packed in packs of the same size. This makes it easier to organise stock in the fridge or freezer and simplifies planning daily use. The flat, three-side sealed version is primarily suited to packs stored lying flat. The pouch has no zip closure: the first closure is provided by the machine's seal, so the pack size should be matched to the intended portion of use. On the transparent pack, the shape of the portion and the result of the vacuuming can be seen without opening it. The product name and the required batch details should be placed in a clearly visible position, so that frozen packs of similar appearance can also be told apart easily.

The right size is chosen together with the product

The width of the pouch must also allow room for the thickness and shape of the product, while the length must take into account an upper section that can be held securely and sealed. You can choose from several sizes, so a suitable version can be found for smaller portions as well as elongated products. For contents with sharp or pointed surfaces, mechanical protection must be considered separately. A trial seal shows how the selected pouch behaves on your own device with the given product.

A cleanly sealable pouch mouth

During external vacuuming, care must be taken that the machine does not draw liquid into the seal area or the suction system. Whether moist products can be packed must be judged on the basis of the device's user manual and the chosen process. The seal area should be clean and smooth, and it is advisable to check the finished seal. When the pouch is used for freezing, maintaining the cold chain and handling the pack so that it is protected from damage are also part of proper handling.
